Description:Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies. Requires successful completion of a certification program.

24x7 Operational position requiring the selected candidate to work rotating shifts. Note - depending on the staffing situation, the candidate may either be placed in shift rotation or a day staff position. Need and availability in the program will influence the placement of the candidate.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI required for this role.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a science and technology related program such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related disciplines, etc.

Experience working with on-orbit spacecraft or satellite flight operations.
Familiarity in one of the following: LINUX, MATLAB, JAVA, C++, PERL, ORACLE/SQL, HTML, XML.
Understanding of software / hardware infrastructure, middleware, and system architectures.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
