JOB SUMMARY

Executes the daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs. Maintains strong partnerships with Store Management. Conducts apprehensions within established guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Major Areas of Responsibility


SHOPLIFTER APPREHENSIONS

  • Adheres to established shoplifter guidelines (e.g., elements of proof, nonviolence policy)
  • Observes, apprehends and/or deters any acts of dishonesty from outside sources (e.g., shoplifting, ticket switching).
  • Ensures apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
  • Completes and distributes paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains appropriate evidence, demonstrates understanding of law enforcement procedures and professionally participates in legal activities as needed (e.g., court appearances, police calls)


PARTNERSHIPS

  • Provides prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to internal and external customers.
  • Communicates shrink related concerns to management during SM/LP meetings and/or on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinates and executes shrink impact activities in conjunction with management (e.g., truck receipt, locker checks, purse/parcel checks, trash removal, closing procedures, layaways).
  • Supports all store's shrink reduction programs.


ASSOCIATE DISHONESTY

  • Encourages associate use of Company shrink reduction resources (e.g. tipline, shrink crew, associate awareness training).
  • Participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned (e.g. recognizes suspicious activity, conducts fact findings).
  • Provides thorough and timely documentation to supervisor.


PHYSICAL SECURITY

  • Conducts routine inspections of alarm systems and locking mechanisms.
  • Ensures discreet and safe handling of cash transactions (e.g. bank deposits, cash pick-ups, changeover procedures).


SAFETY

  • Conducts monthly fire and safety inspections as assigned, reporting findings to management and executes corrections as directed.
  • Encourages safety awareness and supports maintenance of risk-free environment.


ASSIGNED DUTIES

  • Maintains loss prevention office, security towers and equipment.
  • Completes all administrative duties in a timely and effective manner (e.g. zeroed out merchandise, refund letters)


Performs other duties as assigned.
